I stay really busy and I'm not sure I'll have time to update this. As we speak all of my websites have been 'Hacked' and the index page has been replaced. I should probably be draining the standing water from our pool (mosquitos) or fixing my websites, or repairing some of these computers that are cluttering the house, or fixing my hedge shears, or re-installing the water heater (Ballentine Plumbing re-installed it, he's the expert, his re-installation was so bad -- worse than it already was, which was just a quarter-inch skewed -- that we had to withhold payment for the job until he came back and did it again. And he never did.)
Yes, I 'name names' and intend to tell the truth, or at least no untruths in this blog.
I'm Glenn. That's my full legal name (and grist for another blog post itself), which has its good and bad points. The main 'good' point is that people rarely forget my name once they have heard it, and a lot of people who otherwise wouldn't likely remember me at all remember me better than I remember them.
I am slightly afflicted with prosopagnosia, I believe. I've not recognised people with whom I have been intimate, or have had long and productive conversations. I tend to have friendships and close acquaintances with people who are very distinctively-featured, tattoos, 'weirdo' hair, ugly -- or gorgeous, very tall -- or short... et, as they say, cetera.
I think I also have Delayed Sleep Phase Disorder. At times there is no solution but to just stay up all night, and get to sleep exhausted the next night. I have personally gone more than 7 days without sleep. Of course after that long awake, I can't be sure of anything, it might have been a hallucination, or maybe I was dreaming.
Who am I? If you don't already know me, you may get to know me if you read my blog. I don't tend to define myself by what I do (I'm a juggler, retired clown, multimedia artist, sculptor, inventor, writer, poet, cyclist, expert driver, certified rescue swimmer (it's expired, but I have been certified for in-water rescue operations -- in fact anything up to IC on a rescue operation -- in any flowing water: not open ocean, in other words, but I have taken Rescue 3's Swiftwater I and II and Vertical Channel Rescue courses), reader, digital media artist, special effects technician, compositor, editor, producer, director. These things are things that I do. They are not who I am.). I do enjoy watching and participating in many forms of Dexterity Play, such as juggling, twirling, acrobalance and other balancing, object manipulating, stilting, dancing, hooping, footbag, et plentiful cetera.
I have difficulty continuing a conversation beyond a misstatement of fact. If you say to me for instance, that on 2001/09/11 terrorists piloted aircraft into buildings, I would agree, but if you said that the terrorists were on-board the aircraft piloting the craft into buildings, I wouldn't be able to go on. It might be true, but nobody knows -- at least nobody who wasn't in on the plot can know, so if George W. Bush says he knows what happened, well I would have to conclude he is a terrorist.
We just don't know that
The September 11, 2001 attacks (often referred to as 9/11) were a series of coordinated suicide attacks by al-Qaeda upon the United States. On that morning, terrorists affiliated with al-Qaeda hijacked four commercial passenger jet airliners.[1][2] The hijackers intentionally crashed two of the airliners into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, killing everyone on board and many others working in the building, causing both buildings to collapse within two hours, destroying at least two nearby buildings and damaging others. The hijackers crashed a third airliner into the Pentagon. The fourth plane crashed into a field near Shanksville in rural Somerset County, Pennsylvania after passengers and members of the flight crew on the fourth aircraft attempted to retake control of their plane, which was said to have been heading for The White House. There are no known survivors from any of the flights.
I would say instead:
The September 11, 2001 attacks were a series of apparently connected catastrophic events. On that morning, four commercial passenger jet airliners were reported as being hijacked. Subsequently, aircraft -- ostensibly the same hijacked airliners -- struck the World Trade Center , the Pentagon, and a field near Shanksville in rural Somerset County, Pennsylvania. There are no known survivors from any of the flights.
Same thing if you tell me that you know what happened. If you know what happened, you are a co-conspirator, in my opinion.
I'm hoping this blog will attract dexterity players, jugglers and other performer types, and friendly kind people rather than 911 conspiracy nuts.
Please don't engage in long forum-like discussions in the comments section. That's not really what it's for.
